Exploding Heads For All!

It’s bad enough that I’m on the phone with Dell support.

It’s worse that it’s been a busy day, and I’m on hold when I really can’t afford to be.

What’s worst is the hold music.

Ahem.

I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD THAT IF I HEAR ANY MORE ENYA WITHIN A WEEK’S TIME I WILL START HUNTING TODDLERS AND COLLECTING THEIR BLOODY TORSOS TO BUILD A GIANT, GORE-DRIPPING CHILD-TORSO-MOBILE OVER THE HEADQUARTERS OF WHOEVER BUILT THEIR IVR SYSTEM AND WHOEVER CHOSE THIS MUSIC. I WILL NEED TWICE THE NUMBER OF GORY-SPURTING HEADLESS TODDLER TORSOS, NOW LOOK WHAT YOU WENT AND MADE ME DO ARGHATGHGHGHATHGHG.

Ahem.

I do so hate Enya.

I’m ashamed of myself for making that joke, but more ashamed if you actually get it.

What really surprises me is that I’m not terribly offended by the name this time. Windows Vista? Sure. It works, it sticks, it sounds good, and it even makes a reasonable play on words with the name. Not bad. The number system ran out of punch with Windows 2000 (really, where do you go from there? I hope my heirs beat the crap out of anyone using any 3000’s in software titles until at least 2995) and, well, what can you say about NT? XP? Doesn’t do much for me.

But this, this works.

Whether or not it’s good enough for me to spend money on it, well, we’ll see.

DW5

So my latest gaming edition in the Playstation 2 version of Koei’s Dynasty Warriors 5. I don’t know what it is about this series, but they’re endlessly entertaining to me. I’ve heard some people complain that the games are just more of the same every time they come out, but I have to agree with Chris on this one — basically we’re just after a graphics update and some roster additions, so what makes this so different from all those copies of Madden that get sold every year?

At least with this, you can read the book that inspired it all: Luo Guanzhong’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
