Yes, this about sums up where I’m at as a person right now. Yes, it does that nicely.

So I’m stuck down in Washington D.C. doing work for a conference my company does, and it’s basically 14-hour days of running around doing everything for everyone and none of it relating to what I actually do for a living.
Food is good, but whatever.
Nothing much else happening (that I’m able to be aware of) and I’ll be back in New York on Saturday night. Have fun, kids.
Tatsuya : So which is the bigger crime in NYC: Losing a sexual harassment lawsuit or not making the playoffs?
Matt : Oh, the playoffs.
Tatsuya: rol
Matt : Shit, we figure everyone is a scumbag, you may as well be a successful scumbag.
Sara got this picture of Opi with her XTi the other night. I think it’s rather fab.
“They say when you die and go to heaven all the dogs and cats you’ve ever had in your life come running to meet you. Until that day…”

My family adopted Pippin when I was 13. He passed away in his sleep last night around 2:30AM at mom and dad’s place back in Michigan, age 15. He’ll really be missed. Pets are a hard thing. You come into the deal knowing what’ll happen in time, but you can’t trade it for anything in the world.
Rest in peace, little guy.
Finished up a report today for work, and it turns out that 65% of our desktops are under 1Ghz, 128MB of RAM or less, and running Windows 98 with Office 97 and Outlook 98.
Excellent.
I know we’re not-for-profit and all, but come ON, people.
Firefox 1.5 RC3 is out. On my work machine I just had to check for updates (running 1.5 RC2 currently) and bam, downloaded a 218K file and had me restart Firefox. All set. Beautiful.
The Breezy Badger release is due out within a couple of days, and I’m already copying things onto a backup DVD in order to get ready for my typical “Scorched Earth” format and install. I don’t care about ease of upgrade, I want a clean slate, bitches.
I also hear tell that Jorge has some iFolder magic coming. I am intrigued.
I give all the credit in the world to SanDisk. I’ve learned this weekend that their Cruzer Micro and Cruzer Mini products will not only survive a heavy wash cycle on a Maytag washer, but will not lose any of my data despite looking like it lost a fight with a weedwhacker.
Outstanding.
I’m ashamed of myself for making that joke, but more ashamed if you actually get it.
What really surprises me is that I’m not terribly offended by the name this time. Windows Vista? Sure. It works, it sticks, it sounds good, and it even makes a reasonable play on words with the name. Not bad. The number system ran out of punch with Windows 2000 (really, where do you go from there? I hope my heirs beat the crap out of anyone using any 3000’s in software titles until at least 2995) and, well, what can you say about NT? XP? Doesn’t do much for me.
But this, this works.
Whether or not it’s good enough for me to spend money on it, well, we’ll see.
